The Rest & Restore Protocol™ (RRP) is a gentle, listening-based method designed to help the nervous system shift out of stress and into states of calm, regulation, and repair. It was developed by Dr. Stephen Porges & Anthony Gorry. Using specially created music that mirrors the body’s natural rhythms, the protocol invites your system to slow down, settle, and reconnect with a sense of internal ease.

Many people struggle to truly rest — their bodies feel stuck “on,” or relaxing brings up discomfort. RRP offers a simple, safe way for the nervous system to experience deep restfulness again. The music does the work, allowing you to lean back, listen, and let your body soften without effort or pressure.

Over time, clients often notice more ease, steadier moods, better sleep, and a greater capacity to meet daily life with resilience.

HOW IT WORKS

Listening as regulation
RRP uses carefully designed soundtracks that interact with the nervous system through rhythm, tempo, and tone. These musical patterns help guide your body toward calmer, more regulated states.

Rhythms that meet your biology
The music is created to echo natural internal rhythms — like breath and heartbeat — which helps the body settle, unwind tension, and return to its restorative “rest and digest” mode.

A gentle pathway out of survival mode
If your system is stuck in fight, flight, or freeze, these sound cues offer a non-invasive way to downshift without having to talk, process, or push through anything.

Supportive and accessible

You simply listen while resting comfortably. No touch, movement, or guided exercises are required. It can be used on its own or alongside other somatic or therapeutic work.

Building a new baseline of calm
With repeated sessions, the nervous system becomes more familiar with regulation and can return to these calmer states more easily — both in and out of session.

Healing happens through listening rather than doing. You don’t need to analyze, work hard, or “relax correctly”—the music gently guides your system.

The therapy Process

01. initial enquiry

Reach out to enquire about working together. I’ll send you key information about my approach and what to expect so you can get a clear sense of whether this feels like the right support for you.   

02. phone call

We’ll have a free 20-minute call to explore your needs and answer any questions. If you’d like to continue, I’ll send you an intake form to complete and return before our first session

03. first session

In this 90-minute session (€120), we begin by briefly discussing your intake form. From there, we move into a somatic-focused session so you can experience the work directly and begin building a felt sense of safety and connection in the body.

04. deepen into the work

Therapy continues in a block of six sessions (€390), held at the same time and day each week. Ongoing work is recommended to support deeper regulation and embodiment, with breaks between blocks encouraged to allow for rest and integration.

In my practice, I combine the Rest and Restore Protocol® with Transforming Touch®. I follow a structured 7-point regulation protocol. The specially engineered RRP music is integrated into this process, with clients using over-ear headphones. 

The two modalities integrate well together.  The 7-point touch  protocol  supports nervous system regulation. The listening therapy entrains the body into a felt sense of safety & deepens this regulation work.  Sessions are offered in-person or remotely. 

The Rest and Restore Protocol® supports people in dealing with stress, anxiety, trauma-related symptoms, sleep disturbances, digestive issues, and difficulties with regulation and nervous system balance.

Research and clinical use have shown improvements in areas such as anxiety, sleep, depression,  trauma symptoms, gastrointestinal functioning, ADHD, autism, with many people reporting increased calm, balance, and capacity for rest.

Many people notice a deepening sense of calm, improved rest, or shifts in nervous system activation during or after sessions. Others report changes in sleep, digestion, emotional regulation, or overall capacity to settle. Responses vary, and all experiences are welcomed and tracked at a pace that supports integration and sustainable improvements in regulation. 

Fees vary depending on the type of support you’re seeking.

Initial Intake (1.5 hrs): €120
Individual Session (60 mins): €80
Private Sessions - 6 week block (6 x 60 mins x €65) = €390 
Rest & Restore Protocol - 6 week block (6 x 60 mins x €65) = €390 
Online Course (Zoom) - 6 week course: €150
